HTC has announced its partnership with Dropbox, which is a cloud-storage company letting users access and store all kinds of files like music, video and documents in the cloud. It is similar to Apple’s iCloud and Microsoft’s SkyDrive, but unlike the SkyDrive, which offers 25GB of free storage, Dropbox will offer 5GB free storage for all HTC users whose devices run HTC Sense 3.5.

We heard about it a month ago when the first HTC smartphone coming with HTC Sense 3.5, the HTC Rhyme was preparing to be launched. Now there are a couple of such handsets (for example, the HTC Sensation XL). A few others will join them in the near future (the HTC Explorer and the HTC Rezound). So we can say this cooperation was started at the right time.
Moreover, it’s one of the most necessary apps for Android devices; we mentioned about it in our HTC Desire Z review. But then Dropbox came as a simple app, which means consumers were using only 2GB free; for additional storage they had to pay. Now HTC-Dropbox partnership gives a bonus 3GB of storage considering the development tendency.
This partnership will help HTC stay competitive in the market, and though 5GB is not so much, let’s not forget that in general Dropbox offers 2GB free. So HTC users will have 3GB of extra storage, which is a good gift, isn’t it?
