While many people are waiting for ITC to allow HTC’s online ordered Amaze 4G handsets to pass the US borders, those who have already got their devices can now upgrade them to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It was made available yesterday as announced earlier. Note that it’s not the only HTC smartphone with T-Mobile branding that gets ICS; there is also the Sensation 4G, which was being updated on May 16.
This is the latest version of Google’s platform, thus there are many changes besides the bug fixes. The update will change the software version to 2.14.531.3710RD and bring such features as HTC Sense 3.6 UI, Face Unlock, improved battery life, improved text input and spell checking.
You can check its availability right now bu going to Settings (before downloading make sure the phone is charged at least 50 percent). The update can be downloaded over-the-air or via Wi-Fi. T-Mobile requires that the Amaze 4G not be rooted before. There are other improvements and changes as well. For detailed info visit T-Mobile’s web page.
