Sony has only one smartphone launched with the PlayStation certification. It is the Sony Xperia Play. At the moment, this phone remains the only Sony branded handset with such an advantage but the company has announced it will no longer launch any similar device. Sony signed a deal with HTC, Sharp and Fujitsu meaning different devices of these manufacturers will be PlayStation certified. It happened nearly two months ago, and the first devices with such functionality were the HTC One X, S and V. Now their family has been replenished with three new devices.
Sony recently said, “HTC mobile device owners cannot access PlayStation®Mobile for the moment. However, we are working with HTC to ensure PlayStation®Mobile launches as soon as possible. We will update you soon.” Now owners of the HTC X+, XL and EVO 4G LTE can play PlayStation games freely. Not all titles work on those handsets but Sony is working on them, and they will soon be available.
