The HTC Desire C aka the HTC Golf and the HTC Wildfire C is now official. It’s the company’s next low-end smartphone coming to win users’ hearts. On the whole, there aren’t many smartphones with HTC branding intended for this niche, thus, the Desire C can be welcomed by consumers wholeheartedly.

The phone is packed with a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, a 600MHz processor with 512MB of RAM, a 5MP camera, 4GB of native storage (though HTC will give 25GB of free DropBox cloud storage), NFC support and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Beats Audio out of the box. It will come in black, white and red.

The first market where the Desire C will go to is the UK. Many mobile operators and retailers in face of Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, Three, O2, Phones4U, The Carphone Warehouse and Tesco Mobile will offer it next month at around $275 (£169.99) off contract. Other markets will get it a bit later. So far there is no word whether this low-end Android phone will travel to the US or not.

The first Android 4.0-packed smartphone was launched back in November. Afterward, every Android phone owner used to think their handset would soon be upgraded to that version but the carriers and the manufacturers didn’t hurry to push out corresponding updates, vice versa, until today only a few devices have received Ice Cream Sandwich. The HTC Vivid is one of those lucky ones. The Taiwanese company’s first smartphone to be updated to Android 4.0 was supposed to be the HTC Sensation 4G but some unknown reasons prevented it. Finally the phone’s update launch date is official.

T-Mobile website has officially revealed the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will arrive on May 16 with HTC Sense 3.6. The update will be pushed out over-the-air, thus, once it’s available, you must charge your phone fully and find a place with Wi-Fi connection.

Moreover, the same update for the HTC Amaze 4G is almost ready and will be available in coming weeks, but, unfortunately, we don’t know the exact launch date.

The HTC Golf was said to be another low-end smartphone coming to strengthen HTC’s positions in the niche. Afterward, the device was renamed to the HTC Wildfire C. Now the phone has leaked in Vodafone Portugal’s May catalog with the name the HTC Desire C. The info is not official, but since the source is too reliable, we choose to consider the statement semi-official.

According to GSMArena, the HTC Desire C will be packed with features that immediately throw the phone into the category of low-end smartphones. But as always, any device has its advantages to attract people. For the HTC Desire C, it’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS with Beats Audio support. Other features include a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, a 600MHz processor, a 5MP camera, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 4GB of native storage and so on. Another source claims the phone will sport a 1230mAh battery and will cost under €200 ($250).

Now that we have the HTC Desire C and a few leaked photos, we assume the phone will be soon officially announced.

The long awaited HTC One X was launched in the US via AT&T on May 6. This model differs from other One X handsets with its dual-core processor. As you know, the carrier had to wait for its own model for a long time because Tegra 3 CPU found on the original handset doesn’t support LTE and won’t support it until 2013, while the production of Snapdragon S4 processors slowed up because of some issues. As of now, the HTC One X is available in AT&T stores but it seems the bad tradition of bugs found on the international variant of the phone still continues.

Some AT&T models suffer from WiFi connectivity and speed bug but immediately after the problem became known, the manufacturer announced it’s aware of the problem and is working on the fix. No launch date was mentioned but Brief Mobile has obtained the fix and as the source claims, it’s available now. If you, however, prefer other ways to fix the issues, use the method offered by HTC itself — when you want to switch to WiFi connection, toggle the connection for a few seconds and then toggle it back on. This will allow the phone to reset to Wi-Fi connection and get a new switch address.

We are waiting for your feedback concerning your HTC One X; does it experience the same problems or not?

HTC’s most powerful smartphone suffers from many bugs. The One X has been available in the market for a long time now and since then we have been hearing about new issues found on the phone. It firstly referred to the power management. Afterward, something went wrong with the camera. Later on users discovered that the display discolors when tapped too tightly. The manufacturer took the wheel in its hands. It observed the situation and launched an update to fix each of the aforementioned bugs. And now another issue has occurred (note that only several HTC One X handsets are affected).

The new bug is related to message notification; neither the status bar, nor the badge on the Messaging shortcut on the homescreen notify the users about the new message. To see if there is a new message or not the consumers check Messaging app manually, which is definitely annoying for them.

HTC has announced it’s already working on the fix without mentioning the update availability date, though.

Lastly, the bug is found on the AT&T variant of the HTC One X as well.

Source

We have previously reported the Sprint’s variant of the HTC One X called the HTC Evo 4G LTE will be launched on May 18. And now things have gotten not only clearer but also official. The day is confirmed. The phone will go on sale exactly on that day, so prepare some $199.99, of course if you want to get the phone.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE is the highest-end model of the manufacturer’s One line, thus, it will come with a list of fine features. Its specs list includes a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen with the resolution of 720×1280 pixels protected with Gorilla Glass technology, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot, an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 1.3MP frontal camera, a 2000mAh battery and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0.

The pre-orders started on May 7. To sum up, consumers will have around ten days to consider whether they want to get the HTC One X from Sprint or from another carrier.

CTIA 2012 has started, and we already have the first good news coming from Verizon and HTC — they jointly unveiled the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. This handset has been rumored for a long time now, and though we had many leaked photos and rumors regarding its features we chose not to fall into euphoria until the official announcement. Now that everything is official, we can quietly take a look at its specs list.

The third-gen Droid Incredible line device is the first in terms of supporting LTE. Thus, it took three generations until the manufacturer was able to bring this feature to the line. Besides that, there are many awesome features borrowed from the One X, though not everything is identical with the latter.

The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE sports a 4-inch qHD Super LCD touchscreen, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage expandable up to 32GB due to a microSD card slot, an 8MP rear camera with a 28mm, f/2.2 lens, a VGA frontal camera, and a 1700mAh battery. As to dimensions, it comes at 122x61x11.7mm and weighs 132g. The phone also supports NFC.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0. The launch date and the pricing are not disclosed yet. What we know is Verizon has said it will release the phone in coming weeks without mentioning the exact date and the price tag.

The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE also known as the HTC Fireball is confirmed to be launched in the US via Verizon Wireless. But there is no official statement as to when it will be launched and what specs list it will come with. Anyway, the phone has been leaked for more than once, therefore we’re sure it’s real. Now we have another leak claiming the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is scheduled to be launched at the end of the month.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE is the latest addition to the line and like its predecessors, this model, too, will be sold very well. We learned about most of its specs due to the benchmark test. Later the handset appeared on Verizon’s promotional site but got quickly pulled down.

In short, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G is in its final stage and will be launched sometime soon. The new rumor mentions May 31 but we can’t rely on it as a similar rumor used to state it would hit the market on April 26 while it didn’t. Anyway, the Droid Incredible 4G has been talked for a long time, and it’s high time to calm people down.

The HTC One X was launched in the UK a month ago but because of issues regarding the production of Snapdragon S4 chipsets it was delayed in the US. Anyway, everything is now left behind as right yesterday AT&T launched the HTC One X as announced earlier.

The One X is the top-end smartphone of the One series. The original HTC One X was packed with a quad-core Tegra 3 chip, which doesn’t support LTE, therefore the manufacturer had to replace it with a dual-core snapdragon processor. Besides that, the device is packed with a monster-sized 4.7-inch 720p resolution touchscreen, the pixel density of which is 312ppi. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass technology, thus, the display won’t be easy to scratch. Plus, the smartphone sports an 8MP camera on the back and a 1.3MP frontal camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0. Consequently, the One X supports Beats Audio system as well.

The AT&T HTC One X is sold for $199.99 on contract. It was something expected as AT&T’s high-end smartphones with HTC branding usually cost that much.

While many HTC smartphone owners are waiting for manufacturers and carriers to announce about the availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for their phones, the rest are enjoying the leaked ROMs, which don’t differ from the original builds in many aspects. Of course, not all the features work properly but it’s better than nothing. This time we have another leaked ICS ROM with HTC Sense 3.6 intended for the HTC Evo 3D.

This phone is included in the manufacturer’s list in which you can find the names of all the phones that will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but the manufacturer and carriers don’t hurry to push them out. Moreover, there is only one HTC smartphone upgraded to Android 4.0, the HTC Vivid, and only a few are waiting for their portions in the coming weeks. In short, just the owners of the HTC Rezound and the Sensation 4G can hope to get the intended updates soon.

The leaked ICS ROM for the HTC Evo 3D is based on a Virgin Mobile build, thus, this Android 4.0 custom build can be identical with the Sprint’s variant with some reservations, of course.

One of the first developers who has managed to get hands on the ROM is JoelZ9614, though sooner or later other geeks will as well come with similar builds. The rooting process is the same but it needs H-Boot 1.4 and a firmware upgrade before you can flash the ROM. We’ll be waiting for newer variants with the bugs found in this ROM fixed.
