AT&T HTC Inspire 4G Getting Android 2.3.3 Update

The “giant-phone” — the HTC Inspire 4G — is getting an over-the-air update, a promise-come-true from AT&T. The carrier promised to update all smartphones released in 2010 that didn’t come with Android 2.3, so the update of the HTC Inspire 4G to Android 2.3.3 is not a surprise.

The smartphone started to prepare for getting Android 2.3.3 update back in April, when the device got a minor update enabling the HSUPA mode and making web-browsing faster.

Perhaps many of you have already received the notification about the update. The actual update started last Thursday while the official statement came only yesterday. Those who didn’t receive the notification can always stick with the manual check up option or just download theĀ 269MB RUU from HTC.

The newest version of the OS will bring in lots of good features to the powerful 4.3-inch device with an 8MP camera and a 1GHz processor. The most charming feature is still the latest version of the HTC Sense. The rest of the fixes and updates are the following:

  • Hotmail, Live, and MSN email auto configuration settings update.
  • Makes the email set up process much easier and includes the most current settings for each type of email.
  • Increased potential data speed at which data can travel on the network.
