The launch of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-packed handsets with HTC branding is beneficial for other consumers as well. Once they are launched, developers will get their hands on the phones’ software with a goal to make custom ROMs for older handsets. The T-Mobile HTC One S is a perfect choice for developers because it runs Android 4.0.3 with HTC Sense 4.0; it can ported to devices, which will never get one of these features. Say, the HTC Evo 3D is scheduled to get its portion of the update sometime in the future but it will run only v3.6 of HTC Sense UI. However, the previous night proved productive for a developer working on a ROM for the Evo 3D.
The ROM made for the HTC Evo 3D seems to work quite stably. It’s rooted, the WiFi and data work perfectly, and there is also HTC lockscreen. In short, it’s “closer to perfection,” as the developer mentions. However, it’s a custom creation and there MUST be issues. The tag “beta” reveals that. Unfortunately, both cameras and Bluetooth still don’t work.

Anyway, the developer has promised to fix all the bugs and introduce Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the HTC Evo 3D in a new view.
