It’s been a few days since an image of the HTC Supersonic display, running Android 3.0 (most likely) OS has appeared on the web. As it turned out, it was a fake one. Let’s take a look at another screenshot of the “new” device called HTC Phandroid, which is said to be working based on Android 3.1 OS.
This is also a fake photo. The author of this picture is one of the developers of the Android OS, Evan Charlton, explains how he got these shots: “The phone maintains a text file (/ system / build.prop), which contains information about the model of the device, the firmware version. Editing them, you can get any model and version of operating system”:
ro.product.model = HTC Phandroid
ro.build.version.release = 3.1
So, it’s not worth to believe such Screenshots.
Of course, it should be noted that these revelations do not mean that the smartphone HTC Supersonic does not exist or that Google is not developing Android 3.0 at the moment.
