The long awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM for the HTC Hero has finally arrived. The update got the name aospCMod, by XDA Developer aosp, is built from the CyanogenMod 7 nightlies.Recall the HTC Hero was the first to receive the ever popular HTC Sense interface.
The update mainly comes to improve the camera/camcorder functionality of the handset. The HTC Hero development has slowed down in the past six month’s period, however luckily for us a few developers still go on with the handset.
The android-wifi-tether still works quite good, as well as the animation works, however you should probably change the screen density to 140 from 160.
